On The Banks Of Mitchell’s Creek is a collection of poems reflecting on portions of April Lynne’s life. April grew up in a single parent home, in the small town of Underhill, Vermont. Reflecting on close relationships and memories with friends and family, capturing so many years page-by- page. As a little girl April spent a lot of time sitting along the creek that ran behind her house. Pondering over her life at the time and what she was missing out on. Later on down the road April found love and along with that came a new family. April is living out her ultimate dream of being a wife & mother, and absorbing the unconditional love that surrounds her. April has found a unique way of connecting the unforgettable past to the adventurous present. Travel through the ripples of a small town child emerging into her own. Change falls within It all starts with one ripple But travels into an Ocean
Being a child of divorce I have taken my experiences and given them a voice. Many children feel lost and lonely surrounds them always feels clouded by anger and jealousy. Having a safe place to hide or an outlet to run to always makes the pain slip away even if the influences are not good. I prayed my words would reach out to parents and children. Letting them know they are not alone. Giving parents sweet memories of when their children were born and that overwhelming emotion of Love.
